Hello!

Entry number 20 in the 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from the 2022 Australian Open.

One thing I can say about my visit to the 2022 Australian Open was that I got value for money. I purchased a Night Session ticket to Margaret Court Arena granting me access to the Open from 5 pm. I wanted to get there early to watch some of the matches on the outer courts. As I write this, I’ve just realised that I did not locate Court 17. Ah well, next year.

I was a little hesitant going this year as the COVID numbers are still hovering around ridiculous, but being triple vaccinated, I felt that although not bullet-proof, I stood a better chance of telling COVID to bugger off. Before people message or email me, I do completely understand that being triple vaccinated does not make you impervious to COVID. I was just using that as a reason I could go to the Open.

Upon arrival, I got the camera out with the little 50mm 1.4 so as to be a little less pretentious and set about walking around the Open, keeping an eye out for anything that might make a nice photograph. I haven’t used this lens in a few months and it was nice to break it out for the walk around.

I like the way this photograph turned out with the obvious subject on the left and the hint of the Rod Laver Arena sign visible in the background.

I’m going to leave it here as the day job beckons! I should have a few photographs up my sleeve for the coming days and I can’t wait to go through them all.

Have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.

Richard
