Oh, hi there!

As you can see in today’s photograph, life is slowly returning to “normal”.

It’s a little hard to factor with the new case count today north of 1900. I’ll be keeping an eye on the numbers (that’s pretty much all I can do) and keeping an eye on the good old seven-day-rolling average I love so much.

Speaking of which, the four points of data I track daily (along with their respective 7DAs) are doing pretty well. My blog readership is pretty consistent, my weight is trending down, the COVID cases are trending down and my blood sugar is trending down. Overall, I can’t complain too much.

My aim with blood sugar and weight is to come in under the 7DA figure. Pizza doesn’t help this but with the band starting up again on Monday night, that number shout start behaving itself in no time!

Speaking of the band, I’m stretching my Laravel (PHP coding framework) chops again by designing and building a portal for my band to use. We’ve needed a central “source of truth” for charts, calendars and other items for a while now. As annoying as Facebook Messenger can be at times, it’s still the best form of communication for a general chat at the moment, but everything else will be up on the portal.

I’ve been enjoying getting back into the coding especially as I’ll be needing it at the day job in the coming year. I’m achieving new things and slowly getting my head back around the framework.

I’m also excited to see the weather trending up (ooh, I might start tracking that too, I love data) as well. It’s about bloody time and I’m still a little miffed that we had a one week summer last time.

Niles is getting back to his normal self and spends his time staring at me.  The fundraising M did make a massive difference and there is still some more bookings coming in, which is amazing.

That’s all I’ve got for today. It’s time to hang with R while M tries to get some work done. That means within fifteen minutes, R will be in the study annoying M and I’ll be on the receiving end of an M frowny face.  UPDATE: It only took four minutes … And the face was indeed frowny.

Good times!

I’ll see you for the next post.

Richard
