Entry number 126 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photo from a work photoshoot.
It comes as no surprise to me that whenever I am interviewing for a position the subject of photography comes up. I have many skills to offer any prospective employers but they always hone in on photography. Having worked at retail and wholesale businesses for the last five or so years explains why I can call myself an experienced product and marketing photographer.
But the shoots I have completed for past clients have never been as fun as the one I shot on Wednesday night.
The place I work for sells amusement machines. They also run a couple of amusement arcades under a different brand name. This brand needed some social media and website photos so I was sent to go and shoot. I dragged my wife along as my plan was to grab many 2-3 second video snippets I can edit into some quick marketing videos. With my wife along, she could handle the video whilst I concentrated on the stills photography.
Having my wife along necessitated having our daughter along. A quick phone call to the boss and he was very happy to organise a three-hour game card for her (no tickets being dispensed). In the end, we all got a free gaming card each to use. My boss has always encouraged the employees to play games (the office foyer is practically an arcade) so we can better talk to customers, so when in Rome.
The shoot went very well and I think my daughter had one of the best days of her life. She’ll probably make it into the marketing photos as well.
Let me interrupt the flow to bring you a message from our sponsor, Me! Did you love the photo? Each photograph in the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is made available as a single signed limited edition print. If you are interested, you can purchase the print at the Shop for only $36.50 (including free postage to anywhere in the world). If it’s not there then someone beat you to it! I thank you for your support of my photography and this website.
I look forward to doing this shoot every three months or so to keep the social media photos fresh and to build up a huge library of images.
Great to have the new camera out at shoots twice in five days. I’m still learning all the features and may need to resort to reading the manual soon as this thing is a beast. My wife used it for the first time last night on a quick shoot as well so technically it’s been on three shoots in five days.
I’m finding it a little frustrating that post-COVID, my recovery times from a shoot have vastly increased. It’s not surprising, just annoying.
If you’ve made it this far, as always, thank you for your time and your attention! I will see you for the next post.
If you are not a member already, please consider joining the Average Suburban Dad Blog Followers Facebook Group. I’m posting to the group whenever I publish a post. Start or join discussions on the photograph and/or content with others! And maybe suggest a better name for the group.
