Hello!

Entry number 921 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is from a headshot photoshoot I completed recently.

2022 365 Black & White Challenge – 92/365

Friday

So, I’ve had a week.

But first, I’m 25% of the way through the 365 Black and White Challenge! Yay!

On Monday I received an offer of employment for a different company. This offer currently tops my current conditions in that there is more money, fewer hours, Wednesdays from home (I do school runs on Wednesdays) and in around three months or so a much shorter commute.

I handed in my notice to my current employer who did not take the news well, not in an angry way, but in a surprisingly sad way.

On Tuesday, he took me for a walk around our large industrial blocks and laid bare his feelings, offering to reduce my workload, move the direction my role was going etc and to tell me how much he wanted me to reconsider. It was both humbling and bloody annoying as he really made a compelling argument as to why I should stay.

Yesterday I put the new offer on the table and he’s asked me to wait until Monday to make my final decision which I agreed to.

The potential new employer called me to ask what was going on and to be honest sounded a little upset that I hadn’t immediately accepted the offer. I hate letting people down and this caused a night of fitful sleep, just what I need right now … not.

I need to add that I do enjoy my current place and the people. I didn’t realise how much I was valued and it’s made it harder, but a decision has to be made.

So my head is not in a great place.

Let me interrupt the flow to bring you a message from our sponsor, Me! Did you love the photo? Each photograph in the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is made available as a single signed limited edition print. If you are interested, you can purchase the print at the Shop for only $36.50 (including free postage to anywhere in the world). If it’s not there then someone beat you to it! I thank you for your support of my photography and this website.

How has your week been?

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for your time and your attention! I will see tomorrow you for the next post.
