Hello!

Entry number 29 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from the 2022 Australian Open.

Unlike the past two photographs, this one was not previsualised. In fact, the camera wasn’t even in my hands when Monfils ran in for the volley!

Thankfully I saw what was coming, was able to grab the camera from my lap praying that the settings from the last shot would be close enough to be able to save the photo in post-processing and had time to click the shutter once as the camera was firmly on single-shot mode.

At home, my wife makes … I mean … recommends a nightly round of “Three things you are grateful for today”. I’m only doing one now but I am grateful for the ability to see, react and photographs moments quickly.

Speaking of which, my wife is a fan of Gael Monfils, seen here flying through the air with the grace of … something that flies through the air gracefully. So I hope she enjoys this photo of his butt. She’ll say that she likes him for his athleticism and character etc. But we all know better right?

Have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.

Richard
