Hello!
Entry number 31 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from my friend’s front garden, photographed at night just as the pizzas were being finished.
The Photograph:
I do like photographs where one subject is highlighted and the rest disappear into blurry goodness. The setting sun provided some awesome backlight too. This was taken with my current favourite camera/lens combination and I’m looking forward to seeing how that changes when the new camera arrives.
Just to mix things up a little in February, the photo for the day will be pulled from the oldest image in my Candidates folder at home. If I don’t like the photo anymore, it gets deleted.
Harsh, but that’s the way I roll.
I have (at the time of writing) 22 photographs in the Candidates folder. Let’s see how many make it through!
The Blog:
It appears the essence of a good ham and cheese sandwich is the cheese. And more importantly the ratio of cheese to ham.
I regularly indulge in a couple of ham and cheese sandwiches at a local café and today’s let me down. Me, being the person I am, have put way too much thought into the reason why and I finally figured it out as the wrapper was being thrown into the bin. There was only one slice of cheese per sandwich! The person who normally makes them wasn’t there that day and so another person took my order. Of course, I thought nothing of this firmly believing that the café had a rigorous ham and cheese sandwich policy in place with regular updates to staff training etc.
Apparently not.
My takeaway from this is that not all sandwich makers are created equally and be sure to get served by the master, rather than the student in future.
Oh, and in case you are wondering. The correct ratio is 2:3 cheese/ham.
Have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.
