Hello!

Entry number 39 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from a wedding I photographed in January.

The Photograph:

During February, I am selecting the oldest photo from my “Candidates” folder and if I still love it, posting that. If the love has gone (none today!), they get deleted.

It’s getting to the stage where I get nervous looking at my Candidates folder as the number of available photographs shrinks … But for now, it’s back to my last wedding for the photograph. The light was terrible this day, bright as bright can be with no softness to it at all. But, as a working wedding photographer, there are no excuses allowed so you just get on with it and make the light work for you as best as possible.

I managed to hide most of the direct light for this photograph and as Amy wasn’t the most comfortable of people in front of a camera, chose to photograph from a safe distance to put her at ease. Never think that a zoom lens must always be used for zooming in! This is my 70-200 mm lens zoomed out to 70 mm whilst I am around 25 metres back. The building was beautiful and I wanted to bring that into the photo as this was the hotel the couple would be staying in for the next couple of nights.

The Blog:

I try to be as positive as possible so as not to repel readers but I really must address the following:

Can we please, as a collective group of supposedly intelligent people, stop saying “I’ve made an Excel Spreadsheet”? It’s a spreadsheet. Excel is the name of the software, not the item.

And whilst we have opened that can of worms, is it not a RAT Test. That would make it a Rapid antigen Test Test. It’s a RAT.

Sorry, about that. Carry on.

Have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.

Richard
