Hello!
Entry number 51 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from a local park.

The BLOG:
In February, I am selecting the oldest black and white photo from my “Candidates” folder and if I still love it, posting that. If the love has gone, it gets deleted.
This image is the start of a series of photographs taken during a play date for my daughter and one of her school friends. The 105mm portrait lens came out specifically to challenge me as I was not planning on taking any portraits with it. I was looking for mundane things and trying to take a non-mundane photograph of them.
I like the contrast of this image. The clouds disappear into the white void.
PS: Did you love the photo? Each photograph in the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is made available as a single limited edition print. If you are interested, click here to purchase this print for only $36.50. I thank you for your support of my photography and this website.
The BLOG:
I was scanning through a Google Drive folder looking for something when I came across a file called “ASD Draft” from January 15 this year. There inside was a complete as yet unreleased blog post! Talk about a win! Luckily, the topic is still very much relevant.
Can someone please tell me where all the biscuits have gone?
In my youth, albeit a while ago, the chocolate biscuit aisle took up at least half of one side of the standard supermarket biscuit aisle. These days it’s lucky to take up two metres! The sweet, non-chocolate portion has also been decimated over the years.
Was it something we said? Was it something we didn’t say?
I particularly bemoan the loss of my beloved Chocolate Wheatens. They were great. Chocolate on one side of a wheat-based biscuit, you had the texture of the wheat with the flavour and taste of the chocolate. I am actually salivating as I write this.
Unlike the chocolate and sweet biscuits, the dry biscuit seems to be thriving. It just goes to show that most people have no taste because most of the dry biscuits I’ve ever tried have no taste. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for bunging some brie on a dry bikkie and enjoying myself with a nice 2022 Coke (No Sugar), but if given a choice, I’d be slamming back my Coke (No Sugar) with a handful of Chocolate Wheatens.
I’d love to know exactly when I became one of those old men who just whine about how things were better “in my day”. Surely I’m not old enough to have a “my day” just yet?
What do you think, my most respected of readers? Please leave your comments below so we can all wallow in our misery together.
As always, join the Facebook Group if you haven’t yet, comment below, have a great day and I look forward to typing at you in the next post.
