Hello!
Entry number 60 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from a photoshoot with a superb musical duo.
The PHOTOGRAPH:
I wanted a photo from the shoot to accompany this post. A quick look through the shoot led me immediately to this photo. You wouldn’t know it looking at them, but these two both struggle with finding photos of themselves they like. I hope they like this one because I love it.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better-matched duo than this one. Musicality, sheer talent and a connection that is as rock-solid as their sound. It does help that they’ve been married for 26 years.
PS: Did you love the photo? Each photograph in the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is made available as a single limited edition print. If you are interested, click here to purchase this print for only $36.50. I thank you for your support of my photography and this website.
The BLOG:
I’m back home from the previously mentioned shoot and what a day. It involved both video and photography for a husband and wife acoustic duo.
The day started with video and included their two sons (very gifted musicians themselves) to show what other formats were also available. Three cameras were recording video whilst I was grabbing still photographs as I saw them. I then quickly (and I mean in under a minute for both of them) captured a quick headshot for the two sons and they departed the scene.
We then finished off the videos for the duo before breaking for lunch. Now lunch sounds relaxing, right? For me, it involved breaking down the set but more importantly backing up the files already created.
After lunch was the portrait session. To put them at ease I tethered my camera to my laptop and then to their supermassive TV so they could see the photos.
I am very happy to say they are both thrilled with what they saw (and I haven’t even edited them yet) and were very impressed with how the entire day ran. Something I am always grateful for.
Got home back in time for dinner and now we are all at the wife’s roller derby training session. The daughter and I hang out for a little bit and then head home, which I can not wait to do as I’ve had a somewhat busy day.
I can’t wait to look through what we got, but I have other shoots I need to edit first.
As is my way with client files, before I go to sleep, all the 120+ gigabytes of files (yes, you read that correctly) will be safely in three places. I do get paranoid when it comes to client files.
I hope you all had a great weekend!
As always, join the Facebook Group if you haven’t yet, comment below, have a great day and I look forward to typing at you in the next post.
