Hello!
Entry number 61 for the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is a photograph from a photoshoot with a superb musical duo.

The PHOTOGRAPH:
I like to offer a variety of images when I photograph clients and this can be a challenge at times. If ever I have a mental moment where I’m not sure what to do, the first thing I will do is to change my perspective. Not referring to a positive mindset change, but the actual perspective I’m seeing.
In this case, I changed both my shooting height and the lens with which I was shooting. My studio work is normally shot at a focal distance of 70, 135 or 200mm. This photo is at 26mm and I am lying on my back at Andrew’s feet.
PS: Did you love the photo? Each photograph in the 2022 365 Black & White Challenge is made available as a single limited edition print. If you are interested, click here to purchase this print for only $36.50. I thank you for your support of my photography and this website.
The BLOG:
The band I play in had a really good rehearsal. I was thinking whilst playing what this means for me.
For me, when everything is falling into place I get the overwhelming urge to play less.
Not to say I skip every third song, it refers to not feeling anxious whilst playing and being able to really enjoy just playing. I really noticed it during one song when I was thoroughly enjoying playing the simplest of drum beats. The very first drum beat any beginner drummer learns.
It’s moments like these that really make you love being in a group with musicians you respect and with which you love playing.
So much fun.
Yesterday’s post got a great deal of attention from friends of the people photographed. It was wonderful and very fulfilling to read the comments on the Facebook post. There will be more photos from this shoot appearing here (like today’s) as I go through the edit. But first I need to finish editing a previous wedding. I’m halfway through that and looking forward to delivering that to the couple very soon.
